Puma Lineage Cats - Cheetah, Jaguarundi and Puma

Cheetahs and Pumas are often included in the general perception of 'big cats' however they are in a separate group to the Panthera big cats.

Even though in the present day they inhabit different continents, the Cheetah in Africa and the Puma in the Americas are actually closely related. Together with the Jaguarundi (also in the Americas), they form the Puma lineage of cats.

Here are some interesting news items about these athletic cats from July to December 2024.
